BRANDON SHARPLES AND COVENTRY OFFENDERS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF TEENAGER

Three men responsible for forcing a 14-year-old girl into prostitution and administering drugs have been sentenced for their roles in her sexual exploitation. Jake Cairns, aged 21, received an eight-year prison term, while Brandon Sharples, aged 20, and Jack McInally, aged 21, were both sentenced to five years each. The offenders took explicit photographs of the girl and posted an advertisement for her on an escort website falsely claiming she was 18. All three men, from Coventry, were found guilty of these crimes in November.

The girl was held at an address in Coventry for five days, with police launching an investigation after she went missing from a relative's home on June 8, 2015. During this time, the men visited the property and paid for sex with her over three days, with police estimating that approximately 20 men were involved in the exploitation.

She was rescued during a police raid on June 13, 2015. At the time, she was found dressed only in her underwear and was attempting to escape through a first-floor window. Cairns, of Cheveral Avenue in Radford, was additionally charged with distributing indecent photographs of a child.

All three men were sentenced for arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child, with Cairns receiving an extra charge for distributing indecent images. They were also issued 10-year sexual harm prevention orders and ordered to register on the sex offenders register for life.

An NSPCC spokesperson commented on the case, highlighting the callous exploitation of a vulnerable teenager and praising the sentences handed down. The spokesperson also emphasized the importance of reporting any concerns related to child sexual abuse.
