BRANDON BENTLEY SENTENCED IN CHESHIRE FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT IN CREWE
A man convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in Crewe, Cheshire, has been sentenced to a significant prison term.Brandon Bentley, aged 26, appeared before Chester Crown Court on Friday, 23 February, where he received an eight-year prison sentence for his crimes.
In addition to his incarceration, Bentley was ordered to register as a sex offender and was subjected to an indefinite restraining order that prohibits any contact with the victim.
At the time of the incident, Bentley was residing in Crewe, Cheshire.
His criminal record includes convictions for two counts of sexual assault, an attempt to commit rape, and digital penetration.
The court proceedings revealed disturbing details about the assault, which took place on the evening of Sunday, 14 November 2021.
According to court testimony, Bentley approached the victim and asked if she wanted to go out with him.
The two spent the night together, sitting in Bentley’s car until the early hours of the morning.
As the night progressed, the victim grew tired and requested to go home.
She exited the vehicle and headed towards her front door, but Bentley followed her closely behind.
When she attempted to close the door, Bentley forcibly pushed his way inside.
Once inside, Bentley grabbed the victim and tried to kiss her against her will.
The situation escalated as he pushed her onto a bed, where he sexually assaulted her despite her pleas for him to stop.
The assault continued even after she was visibly distressed.
Before leaving her residence, Bentley pushed the victim against the wall and subjected her to another sexual assault.
Following his arrest and subsequent questioning, Bentley was formally charged with multiple offenses, including attempted rape, two counts of sexual assault, and causing a female to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.
The court’s verdict underscores the severity of his actions and the impact on the victim, leading to his eight-year imprisonment and the additional legal restrictions imposed upon him.
