SEX OFFENDER JAILED AFTER BREACHING BAN BY CHATTING TO GIRLS AT SHOPPING CENTRE
A man from Wellingborough who had been prohibited from making contact with anyone under the age of 16 has been sentenced to prison after engaging in conversations with girls at Swansgate Shopping Centre.
Bradley Coulson, aged 21, had previously been issued a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) on July 7, 2020.
Northamptonshire Police initiated a civil action against him due to concerns about his conduct.
He was required to follow several conditions under the SHPO, including avoiding any contact with individuals under 16.
Violating these conditions is a criminal offence that can lead to imprisonment.
Nearly 18 months later, Coulson was arrested for exactly that breach.
On November 7 of the previous year, Coulson was observed talking to a group of girls aged between 11 and 13 at the Swansgate Shopping Centre in Wellingborough.
He admitted to three counts of breaching his SHPO.
Last week, on April 29, Northampton Crown Court sentenced him to one year and six months behind bars.
