Former gym instructor raped women multiple times

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Borrowash and Burton, Braden Rae, a 44-year-old man, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of eight years after he pleaded guilty to multiple counts of rape.

The sentencing took place at Wolverhampton Crown Court on June 11, following a series of disturbing allegations that spanned over two years.

According to court records, Rae, who previously worked as a gym instructor in Burton, was found to have committed the heinous acts in Burton-on-Trent.

The court heard that Rae assaulted the same woman on two separate occasions in 2014, and then again in 2015.

The victim, whose identity remains protected, confided in a close friend about the assaults before eventually reporting the incidents to the police.

At the time of his arrest and subsequent court proceedings, Rae was residing at Lace Maker’s Close in Borrowash, Derby.

His earlier guilty plea was entered during a hearing prior to the sentencing, which reflected his acknowledgment of the charges against him.
