BILLAL AMIN FROM LEYTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE AND TRAFFICKING IN EAST LONDON
In a disturbing case that unfolded in Lincolnshire and East London, a man named Billal Amin, residing in Leyton, was convicted and sentenced for heinous crimes involving child sex abuse and trafficking. The incident dates back to November 2016, when Amin orchestrated a plan to transport a 14-year-old girl from a children’s home in Lincolnshire to East London for the purpose of sexual exploitation.According to court reports, Amin arranged for a taxi to pick up the young girl along with her 15-year-old friend. The taxi then transported both girls to a hotel located in East London. Prior to the assault, the girls were given alcohol, which facilitated the abuse. The 14-year-old girl was coerced into performing a sexual act on Amin, and subsequently, she engaged in sexual activity with another man present at the scene.
Following the assaults, Amin took a taxi with the girls, claiming they were headed to his residence. However, once they arrived, Amin suddenly disappeared, abandoning the girls in the middle of the night in London. The two girls, distressed and seeking help, managed to contact the police. Their report triggered a thorough investigation that ultimately led to Amin’s arrest.
Further inquiries revealed a disturbing pattern: two months prior to the incident, Amin had met the 14-year-old girl in London, during which she had also performed a sexual act on him. This evidence underscored the predatory nature of his actions and his involvement in ongoing exploitation.
At Lincoln Crown Court, Judge Simon Hirst sentenced Amin to 12 years in prison. The judge also ordered him to be placed on the sex offenders’ register for life. In his remarks, Judge Hirst condemned Amin’s conduct as “disgraceful,” emphasizing the gravity of abandoning a minor in such circumstances. He stated, “Abandoning a 14-year-old girl in London in the middle of the night beggars belief.”
During the trial, Amin, aged 33 and residing on Lea Bridge Road in Leyton, denied charges of trafficking for sexual exploitation in March 2013, as well as two counts of sexual activity with a child. However, the jury convicted him on a majority verdict of 10 to 2. He was acquitted of an additional trafficking charge.
In addition to his prison sentence, Amin received an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which prohibits him from having any contact with children under the age of 16. This case highlights the serious issues surrounding child exploitation and trafficking, and the justice system’s efforts to protect vulnerable minors from predators like Billal Amin.
