BILAL QAYYUM OF GLASGOW SHISHA BAR EXPOSED AS PEDOPHILE AND SEX OFFENDER
In a shocking revelation, the owner of a controversial shisha lounge located in Glasgow’s Tradeston area has been publicly identified as a convicted sex offender and child sex attacker.Bilal Qayyum, aged 31, is now associated with the Quay Lounge, a venue that opened its doors earlier this year, despite his troubling past.
Qayyum’s criminal history came to light during a recent Glasgow City Council licensing hearing.
The details of his previous convictions were disclosed when police opposed his application for a 2am food permit for the Quay Lounge, situated on Paisley Road.
The application was submitted through his food company, Adam Ali Bilal.
Authorities argued that Qayyum was not a suitable candidate to hold such a license, citing concerns over his character and background.
As a result, the council refused the application, denying him the late-night food permit.
Prior to this, Qayyum had a criminal record stemming from a 2011 case at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.
He pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two schoolgirls aged between 13 and 15 in the Newhaven area of Edinburgh during May and June of that year.
The court sentenced him to a community payback order for two years and mandated his registration on the Sex Offenders’ Register for the same duration.
These details have now resurfaced amid the licensing controversy in Glasgow.
Despite his criminal past, Qayyum has been active on social media, frequently posting selfies and images that showcase his physique.
Known to portray himself as a bodybuilder, he often shares photos of himself without a shirt.
This behavior has surprised many who believed he would maintain a low profile following his convictions.
The revelation of his past crimes has caused concern among members of the local community and those familiar with his history.
The Quay Lounge officially opened in April, but its licensing process has been fraught with objections.
Councillor Stephen Dornan voiced opposition to granting the venue a late license, citing complaints from residents living nearby.
Although Qayyum initially denied ownership of the establishment, staff members confirmed to our reporter that he is indeed the owner.
Qayyum claimed he had submitted a late license application last year under a different business name, but Glasgow City Council clarified that the application was filed a month after the Quay Lounge’s opening.
When questioned about his ownership status, Qayyum stated, “I don’t own that place anymore.
I’m unemployed and on benefits and look after my disabled mother.” He also expressed a desire to promote the venue, saying, “I thought you were doing something to promote the place and I’m happy to comment on that.” Regarding his past convictions for sex offences, Qayyum dismissed them as insignificant, claiming, “It was nothing serious.
It was f*** all.” His dismissive attitude has only added to the controversy surrounding his involvement with the Glasgow-based shisha bar and his criminal history.
