Spalding Whaplode Child Sexual Abuser
In September 2012, a man from Lincolnshire, Benjamin Rodgers, was handed a severe prison sentence of nineteen and a half years after being convicted of multiple historic rapes and sexual assaults involving young children. Rodgers, aged 74 and formerly residing at Hagbeach Gate, Whaplode, near Spalding, appeared before Lincoln Crown Court to face justice for his long-standing crimes.

The investigation into Rodgers' actions was led by Detective Inspector Guy Leach of Lincolnshire Police. In a statement, DI Leach described Rodgers as a dangerous, manipulative, and calculating individual who actively seeks opportunities to exploit vulnerabilities in others. The officer emphasized the gravity of the case, noting that the victims and their families endured a difficult and emotionally taxing four-week trial, during which they had to relive the traumatic events.

Throughout the proceedings, Rodgers displayed no remorse or empathy for his victims. His lack of remorse was highlighted by authorities as indicative of his dangerous nature. The judge's sentencing reflected the seriousness of the offenses, which were characterized by their sustained and premeditated nature. The lengthy sentence was the culmination of a dedicated and thorough investigation carried out by members of the Public Protection Unit.

Lincolnshire Police and the court expressed hope that this conviction would serve as a form of justice for the victims and their families. It is also seen as a step toward providing closure for those affected, allowing them to begin the process of moving forward with their lives after enduring such traumatic experiences.
