Cambridge Domestic Abuser
Benjamin Plummer, aged 39, received a sentence of one year and 39 weeks in prison at Cambridge Crown Court on September 27 for a violent assault and abuse. The incident involved Plummer forcefully throwing his partner to the ground and kicking her in the head, witnessed by two people on Parker's Piece in Cambridge during August. After the assault, law enforcement officers located Plummer at a nearby bus shelter and took him into custody. During his arrest, Plummer was verbally aggressive and spat at the arresting officers. CCTV footage reviewed by police verified that the victim was Plummer’s partner. He later admitted guilt to charges of assault causing actual bodily harm as well as assaulting a police officer. Detective Constable Jasmine Rouse, who led the investigation, commented, “Plummer's actions demonstrate violence and abuse, with little sign of remorse. I am pleased justice has been served and he is now in custody.”
