BENJAMIN BROOKES FROM BANBURY SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST VULNERABLE TEENAGER

The identity of the young man currently serving time for a disturbing assault on a vulnerable teenage girl has been publicly disclosed through an official police photograph.

Benjamin Brookes, a resident of Brunswick Place in Banbury, has been convicted of multiple serious charges related to his interactions with a minor.

Brookes, aged 26, faced a comprehensive trial that lasted for a week at Oxford Crown Court.

During the proceedings, he was found guilty of three counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, as well as one count of inciting or causing a child to participate in sexual acts.

These charges highlight the severity of his misconduct and the breach of trust involved in his actions.

However, the court also acquitted Brookes of one additional count of sexual activity with a child, indicating that the evidence did not support that particular charge beyond a reasonable doubt.

Despite this acquittal, the convictions for the other charges resulted in a significant custodial sentence.

On Thursday, February 29, Brookes was sentenced to three and a half years in prison at Oxford Crown Court.

The sentence reflects the gravity of his offenses and serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and the judiciary to protect vulnerable minors from exploitation and abuse.
