The charges against Thompson encompass a total of 16 counts, all linked to the possession of explicit images and videos that were recorded between May 2003 and October 2005.

During a court hearing, it was revealed that Thompson had accumulated a disturbing collection of 934 images, many of which were classified as high severity in terms of their explicit content. The images included videos, further highlighting the extent of the material involved in the case. The court was informed that the victims depicted in these images ranged in age from as young as three years old, underscoring the heinous nature of the offences.

Thompson’s guilty plea has brought him to the brink of sentencing, with the court indicating that he could face a term of imprisonment when the final judgment is passed. The case has drawn significant attention due to the severity of the charges and the vulnerable age of the victims involved. The authorities continue to emphasize the importance of prosecuting such offences to protect children and uphold justice.
