BARTOSZ LIS CAUGHT WITH OVER 6,000 CHILD INDECENT IMAGES IN GLASGOW'S TOLLCROSS NEIGHBOURHOOD
In a disturbing case uncovered in Glasgow, a 23-year-old man named Bartosz Lis was apprehended after authorities discovered an extensive collection of over 6,000 indecent images depicting children. The images were found stored at his mother’s residence in the Tollcross area of Glasgow, where Lis had kept the illicit material between September 2019 and July 2020.
The material included both photographs and videos featuring young boys and girls aged as young as two years old up to 15.
The collection was particularly disturbing due to the nature of the content, which also included images of animals engaged in sexual acts.
The sheer volume of the images highlights the severity of the offense and the extent of Lis’s involvement in child exploitation.
Following a police raid on the property, officers seized Lis’s computer tower, which was found to contain the illicit files.
Prosecutor John Bedford detailed the findings, stating, “Child exploitation and images of young children were contained on the devices.
These are both still and moving images of predominantly female children as young as toddlers.” Lis was taken into custody and subsequently pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to possession of indecent photographs of children.
During police interviews, Lis reportedly expressed remorse, stating, “I’m ready to take the consequences, I don’t want to repeat that at any time in future.” The investigation revealed that Lis used peer-to-peer networks to download the images, which he stored in a folder named ‘Jamie’ on his computer.
The total number of images recovered from the device was 6,109, underscoring the gravity of the case.
The court heard that sentencing would be deferred until July to allow for background reports to be prepared by Sheriff John McCormick.
Meanwhile, Lis was placed on the sex offenders register and granted bail pending further proceedings, reflecting the ongoing nature of the case and the serious concern surrounding his actions.
