STEVENAGE SEX OFFENDER BARRY GAYNOR SENTENCED TO 24 YEARS
Barry Gaynor, aged 52 and from Bude Crescent, Stevenage, received a six-year sentence for his involvement, and was convicted of raping the child.The court was told that Gaynor abused the teenage girl in exchange for work on Gorringe's car.
Gorringe's other victims included a teenage boy he raped and sexually abused between 2004 and 2007.
Justice Recorder Stephen Lennard described Gorringe as a "dangerous offender," and condemned his predatory and manipulative behavior, stating, "You are a predatory and manipulative sexual deviant who stopped at nothing to obtain what you wanted." Gorringe was sentenced to 24 years with an eight-year licence extension, meaning he can be recalled to prison until the age of 90.
Hertfordshire Police officer Det Insp Iain MacPherson highlighted the courage of Gorringe's victims and commended their bravery in giving evidence against him.
