UK’S FIRST GAY DAD & HUSBAND CHARGED WITH 18 MORE OFFENCES INCLUDING RAPE & PAYING FOR CHILD SEX
One of Britain’s pioneering gay fathers and his spouse have been formally charged with an additional 18 offenses, including charges of rape and paying for sex with a minor.Reality TV personality Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, aged 57, along with his partner Scott Hutchinson, aged 32, were taken into custody following a raid on their luxurious residence last month.
They appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court today, facing numerous allegations such as rape, sexual assault, and involvement in modern slavery and commercial sexual exploitation.
The alleged crimes, which purportedly occurred in Essex and Manchester from April 2013 to January of this year, involve four male victims.
During today’s court appearance, they were not required to enter pleas and were remanded into custody until the next hearing on September 7, when pleas will be submitted.
Prior to their court appearance, Essex Police announced that the couple had been charged with an additional 18 offenses.
The police specified that Barrie Drewitt-Barlow faced 15 further charges, including two counts of sexual activity with a minor; two counts of paying for sexual services involving a minor; five counts of rape; four counts of sexual assault; and charges related to causing or inciting sexual activity without consent.
Scott Hutchinson was additionally charged with two counts of rape and one count of causing or inciting sexual activity.
Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC stated they are scheduled for trial starting January 18, 2027, which is expected to last between eight and ten weeks.
