AYDIN GELIYOR SHOCKS BRISTOL COURT WITH WESTON-SUPER-MARE SEXUAL ABUSE CASE
In a disturbing case heard at Bristol Crown Court, Aydin Geliyor, aged 44, of The Quarry, Penfold Trading Estate, Weston-super-Mare, faced serious charges related to the sexual abuse of a young girl.The court was told that Geliyor had admitted to multiple counts of sexual assault and engaging in sexual activity with a child, actions that have profoundly shocked the local community and prompted a stern judicial response.
During the proceedings, the prosecution outlined the disturbing details of the case.
It was revealed that Geliyor had groped the girl when she was as young as 11 years old and had coerced her into touching him intimately.
The court heard that he had also told her he could kill himself as a result of his actions, a statement that underscored the emotional trauma inflicted upon the young victim.
Christopher Smyth, representing the prosecution, stated that the girl confided in her mother about the abuse, which led to the police being involved.
The authorities then conducted an interview with Geliyor, during which he shockingly claimed that it was the child who had initiated the inappropriate touching.
This assertion was met with strong disapproval from the judge, who emphasized that none of the abuse was inevitable or necessary.
Judge Martin Picton made it clear that the defendant was solely responsible for his actions, stating, “None of it had to happen.
Whatever the view the defendant took, none of it had to happen.
All of it was down to him.” In sentencing, Judge Picton sentenced Geliyor to 56 months in prison.
Additionally, he ordered that Geliyor be registered as a sex offender for life and imposed a ten-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
This order is intended to prevent any future offending and restricts Geliyor from working with children or vulnerable adults, reflecting the seriousness of his crimes and the need to protect the community from potential harm.
