In a recent court ruling at the Inner London Crown Court, a man identified as Awet Solomon has been sentenced to a total of six years and nine months in prison for a serious sexual assault that took place in the heart of the City of London.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day, involved the brutal rape of a woman by Solomon, who is 24 years old and resides on Bath Road in West Drayton.

According to court records, Solomon was charged not only with the rape but also with additional charges of strangulation and causing actual bodily harm.

The victim, whose account prompted the police investigation, reported the assault shortly after it happened.

Her testimony led to a swift response from law enforcement authorities, who acted within 36 hours of her report to arrest Solomon, charge him, and remand him in custody pending trial.

The sequence of events began when the victim disembarked from a bus on Mansell Street, a location within the City of London.

She was walking in the direction of Whitechapel High Street when she was suddenly approached and forcibly dragged into an alleyway.

There, she was subjected to a violent assault, during which she was beaten and ultimately raped by Solomon, a stranger to her.

The attack has left a lasting impact on the victim, and the court’s sentencing reflects the severity of the crime committed by Solomon, who now faces a significant period behind bars for his actions.
