ATTILA DOROGI CAUGHT IN CHELMSFORD WITH CHILD PORN AND EXTREME MATERIALS
In September 2017, a disturbing case unfolded involving Attila Dorogi, a 35-year-old man residing on Parkinson Drive in Chelmsford. The proceedings revealed that Dorogi had been involved in the possession of highly illegal and morally reprehensible material, including indecent images of children and extreme pornography that featured bestiality.
His actions not only violated the law but also brought significant shame upon himself and his long-term fiancée of 13 years, who had supported him throughout their relationship.
On July 26, 2017, Dorogi appeared before Chelmsford Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing indecent images of extreme pornography.
The court was informed that the police had initiated an investigation after receiving a tip-off on August 8 of the previous year.
Essex Police officers acted swiftly upon this information, executing a search warrant at Dorogi’s residence on Parkinson Drive.
During the search, officers discovered a hidden hard drive concealed within a tin at the back of a cupboard in the sitting room.
This device contained a disturbing collection of illegal content, including four images classified as Category A, which is considered the most severe level of child exploitation material.
Additionally, the hard drive held 24 images in Category B, 47 in Category C, and 17 images of extreme pornography involving bestiality.
The police reports indicated that Dorogi did not offer any comments during his police interview, remaining silent on the matter.
Judge David Turner QC addressed Dorogi directly during the sentencing hearing, emphasizing the gravity of his actions.
The judge stated that Dorogi’s conduct had not only caused personal shame but also dishonored the woman who had supported him for over a decade.
He remarked, “This is a shameful day for you and perhaps especially for your fiancée of 13 years, with whom you have been in a stable relationship and who has no doubt stood by your side.” The judge further explained that such crimes are not victimless, highlighting the broader implications of viewing such material.
He pointed out that the demand for illegal content fuels the exploitation of children and profits for those involved in distributing such material.
Dorogi’s guilty plea to multiple counts of possessing child images and extreme pornography was noted, and the court acknowledged his responsibility for possessing 17 images involving bestiality.
Expressing concern over what might have drawn Dorogi to such material at the age of 35, Judge Turner QC hoped that through supervised probation and rehabilitation, some understanding of his motivations might be achieved.
Recognizing the importance of constructive punishment, the judge decided against a custodial sentence.
Instead, he imposed a community order lasting 24 months, which includes requirements for Dorogi to complete 180 hours of unpaid work, attend a 30-day rehabilitation activity, and participate in the MAPS for Change programme.
Additionally, Dorogi was ordered to pay prosecution costs of £320 and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years.
The judge concluded by expressing a cautious hope that this chapter of his life could be put behind him, allowing him to rebuild his relationship and pursue a more positive future, emphasizing that this was an opportunity for personal reform and redemption.
