ASIM HUSSAIN OF LUTON RECEIVES ADDITIONAL 18 MONTHS FOR CHILD INDECENCY IMAGES
In February 2019, Asim Hussain, a 32-year-old from Luton, was sentenced to an extra 18 months in prison after previously being sentenced to six years for drug-related offenses.Hussain's initial imprisonment stemmed from a police warrant conducted at his residence in February 2017, during which officers discovered a significant quantity of drugs and cash.
The warrant was initially executed following information that suggested Hussain’s involvement with accessing indecent imagery of children.
During the search, authorities seized various digital devices belonging to Hussain, including two laptops, three hard drives, and a mobile phone.
These devices contained over 54,000 indecent images of children, categorized from the most serious Category A to Category C.
Although Hussain was initially charged and sentenced for drug offenses, he later pleaded guilty to six additional charges: three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distributing such images.
At Luton Crown Court on Monday, Hussain was sentenced to an additional 18 months in prison.
This sentence will be served consecutively to his previous six-year sentence, which he received in April 2017 after admitting to supplying cocaine and possessing criminal property, including £160,000 of cash and electronic devices, in violation of the Proceeds of Crime Act.
