PETERBOROUGH MAN ASIF HUSNAIN SENTENCED FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGES AND ANIMAL PORNOGRAPHY
In a serious case that has shocked the community of Peterborough, Asif Husnain, a 22-year-old resident of Gilpin Street, was brought before Peterborough Crown Court to face charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images involving children and extreme pornography. The incident dates back to the early hours of December 30th of the previous year, when Husnain sent an indecent video of a child being abused to another individual via the popular messaging app WhatsApp.
Following the report of this activity, police swiftly acted on the information.
During the subsequent investigation, officers seized Husnain’s mobile phone and conducted a thorough examination.
The forensic analysis revealed not only the video he had sent but also uncovered additional disturbing content.
Among the material found were another video depicting extreme pornography involving an animal, as well as seven indecent images of a child.
These findings highlighted the severity of the charges against him and underscored the disturbing nature of his online activity.
During police interviews, Husnain attempted to justify his actions.
When questioned about why he had sent the indecent video, he claimed that he intended to cheer up a friend and believed that the content was humorous.
However, in a subsequent interview, he expressed a different perspective, acknowledging the gravity of his actions.
Husnain admitted that he had taken time to reflect on the situation and recognized how serious it was to possess and distribute images depicting child abuse.
His case was brought before Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on February 16th, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
These included distributing indecent images of a child, possessing extreme pornographic material involving an animal, and possessing indecent images of a child.
The court’s findings led to a more comprehensive sentencing at Peterborough Crown Court.
In sentencing, Husnain received a 12-month community order, meaning he will be under supervision and required to comply with certain conditions.
Additionally, he was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a period of five years, which entails regular monitoring and reporting obligations.
To further restrict his activities and prevent future offenses, the court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for five years, restricting his access to certain online content and contact with minors.
This case serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat online child exploitation and the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions.
