Stockton Man Jailed for Stalking, Assault, and Criminal Damage

A man named Ashley Jefferson, aged 29, residing on Eastport Road in Stockton, has been found guilty and sentenced for multiple serious crimes. These include stalking a woman, which caused her to live in constant fear, as well as causing significant damage to her home and physically assaulting her. Jefferson faced charges that included two counts of assault, theft of a meat cleaver, three counts of criminal damage, and stalking involving a threat of violence. He admitted to these charges in court and was sentenced to three years in prison at Teesside Crown Court. The presiding judge described Jefferson's actions as 'disgusting' and imposed an indefinite restraining order against him. Cleveland Police commended the victim for her bravery in reporting the crimes and for supporting the prosecution, stressing the importance of reporting abuse. Officer PC Ashley Jones expressed gratitude, stating, “I want to thank the victim for her remarkable courage and strength in coming forward to report these crimes and for appearing in court,”.
