ASHLEY BRADBURN FROM STOKE GIFFORD SHOCKS COURT WITH CHILD SEXUAL PREDATOR BEHAVIOR
In July 2017, a disturbing case unfolded at Bristol Crown Court involving Ashley Bradburn, a resident of Long Down Avenue in Stoke Gifford, who was found guilty of engaging in highly inappropriate and criminal online conduct targeting minors and women.Bradburn, who was described during the proceedings as a man whose primary goal in life was to become a father, had instead crafted a sinister online persona to facilitate his predatory behavior.
Under the alias Kane McJames, he initiated contact with a woman on Facebook, sending her a friend request despite her not knowing him personally.
When she declined the request, Bradburn’s actions quickly turned threatening and coercive.
Prosecutor Mark Hollier detailed that Bradburn then sent a request for topless photographs, which the woman refused.
Following her refusal, Bradburn escalated his threats by implying that her 12-year-old daughter would be in danger if she did not comply with his demands.
He explicitly stated his desire to meet the woman for sexual activity and subsequently sent messages to her daughter, warning her, “You and you mum are in trouble.” Using his fake profile, Bradburn described the woman’s daughter as “cute and adorable,” and ominously added, “Knock, knock, I’ll come for you and your daughter,” further intensifying the threat.
The woman, alarmed by these messages, reported the threats to the police, prompting an investigation.
In a subsequent move, Bradburn approached the woman again, this time using his real name, asking her to accept a friend request from his fake profile, McJames.
He then used this profile to request explicit images of her and continued to threaten her daughter with rape.
Bradburn eventually admitted to the woman that he and the fake profile were the same person, revealing his manipulative tactics.
Further disturbing details emerged as Bradburn targeted minors directly.
He contacted an 11-year-old girl online, making lewd suggestions and claiming to be her age, asking for topless photos.
He also approached a 15-year-old girl, requesting topless images, and another 15-year-old girl, asking for pictures of her in the bath.
All these advances were reported to the authorities.
Law enforcement tracked Bradburn’s online activity through his IP address, leading to his arrest and subsequent court proceedings.
During the hearing, he pleaded guilty to charges of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, harassment, and malicious communication, among others.
As part of his sentence, Bradburn was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, undergo rehabilitation, and adhere to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order that prohibits him from having unsupervised contact with minors or unrestricted internet access.
Additionally, he was mandated to register as a sex offender for the next seven years.
Bradburn declined to comment as he left the court, leaving a trail of distress and concern over his predatory actions in Stoke Gifford and beyond.
