Kings Lynn Sexual Abuser
In December 2017, a tragic case unfolded in King's Lynn that shocked the local community and drew significant media attention. A father from King's Lynn, Arunas Guzas, was convicted and subsequently sentenced to seven years in prison for the death of his six-month-old daughter, Milana. The court proceedings revealed harrowing details about the circumstances leading to her untimely demise.

Arunas Guzas faced a two-week trial during which he maintained his innocence, denying any intent to harm his child. Despite his claims, the evidence presented in court painted a grim picture of neglect and violence. Milana was brought into the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) with severe head injuries, injuries so critical that she was transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for specialized care. Despite the relentless efforts of medical professionals, Milana succumbed to her injuries on March 2nd of the following year.

The autopsy report detailed extensive injuries, including trauma to her brain, retinal damage, fractured ribs, and arm injuries. The court heard that at the time of the incident, it was 42-year-old Arunas Guzas who was responsible for her care. When questioned by police, Guzas claimed that he had been experiencing sleep disturbances due to working night shifts. He stated that he had fallen into and out of sleep and awoke to find Milana crying and on the floor, claiming she had fallen from the bed.

Guzas admitted to gently shaking his daughter but insisted that he did not intend to cause her harm. He also told authorities that he attempted to perform CPR when he realized she was struggling to breathe. However, the injuries sustained by Milana indicated a level of violence and trauma that could not be explained by a simple fall or gentle shaking. The court ultimately found Guzas guilty of manslaughter, leading to his seven-year imprisonment sentence. This case has left a lasting impact on the community of King's Lynn, highlighting the devastating consequences of parental neglect and abuse.
