Cowes Child Sexual Abuser
An 87-year-old man from Cowes, Arthur Page, has been convicted and sentenced to over three years in prison following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a teenage boy. The incident, which took place in October of the previous year, led to a court appearance at the Isle of Wight Crown Court on Friday, July 23.

Arthur Page, whose address is listed as Queens Road in Cowes, faced serious charges after admitting to two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor during a prior hearing held on June 7. The court proceedings revealed the disturbing nature of the allegations, prompting immediate legal actions against him.

Following his admission, Page was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register, a legal requirement for individuals convicted of sexual offenses, and the case was adjourned to allow for a comprehensive pre-sentence report prepared by the probation service. This report aimed to assess the risk and determine appropriate sentencing measures.

On the day of sentencing, the court handed down a 42-month prison term to Arthur Page. Additionally, he was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, which will remain in effect until further notice, restricting his ability to work with children or engage in activities that could put minors at risk. These measures underscore the seriousness of the offense and the court’s commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals in the community of Cowes and beyond.
