ARIEL LIGEZA FROM DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED AFTER ASSAULTING PARTNER IN DUNFERMLINE
An argument broke out between a couple during their move house, which resulted in the woman being struck in the face by her partner.
The incident was carried out by 35-year-old Ariel Ligeza, of Lorimer Gardens, Dunfermline.
Ligeza appeared before Dunfermline Sheriff Court accompanied by a Polish interpreter.
He admitted to assaulting his partner by hitting her on the head with his hand on January 22 at Skibo Court.
Additionally, he failed to adhere to bail conditions when police found him with his partner; he was found hiding in a cupboard.
Depute fiscal Zahra Bhatti explained, “Tensions were running high at this time when they were moving house.
An argument started and his partner phoned the police.
He then pushed her on the side of his face with his hand.” The court was also told that Ligeza had previously been convicted of a similar offence against the same woman.
Defence solicitor Elaine Buist stated, “The family are now living together at a new address and there have been no further incidents.” Sheriff David Hall sentenced Ligeza to a community payback order involving 75 hours of unpaid work.
