CCTV footage shows rapist ‘prowling’ outside a west London park before attacking a woman in broad daylight.
Aqil Ali, approached the victim, a woman in her late 40s, in Perivale Park in West London on 5 March 2016.
He first asked her whether she had a cigarette, then dragged her to a secluded spot where he repeatedly raped her over a two-hour period during daylight hours.
He also stole money from her and fled the scene.
The victim managed to raise the alarm at a nearby shop.
After a six-day trial at Isleworth Crown Court on 7 September 2016, Ali was found guilty of multiple sexual offences including kidnapping, two counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration, attempted rape, actual bodily harm, theft, and two offences of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent.
He was sentenced to serve a minimum of 10 years in prison and was placed on the sex offenders register for life.
Due to the severity of his crimes, Ali will remain on licence for the rest of his life.
