June 2004 Civil engineer downloaded child porn A Dunmow engineer’s interest in adult porn strayed into viewing a child porn website, causing him to break the law, a court heard. Antony Marsh, 27, a civil engineer formerly of Little Dunmow, now of South Street, Dorking, Surrey, was at Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday for sentence. He admitted 12 charges of possessing indecent photos of a child and eight offences of making indecent photos of a child. He received three years community rehabilitation, must attend a sex offenders group work programme and sign the Sex Offenders Register for five years. Judge Charles Gratwicke told Marsh: “Possessing such material is a serious offence. If it were not for people like you interested in viewing such material no child would need to be abused in having such photos taken.” Samantha Leigh, prosecuting, said police searched Marsh’s Little Dunmow address on August 14 last year and found 125 images of child porn on his computer. There were 81 level one images, the lowest grade, eight at level two and 30 images at level three and six at level four, the more serious levels. Jamas Hodivala, mitigating, said Marsh was of previous good character with an excellent academic record. He became addicted to adult pornography and through curiosity moved on to child porn.
