August 2011 Convicted Paedophile guilty again Former Stapeley Water Gardens security guard Antony Foxley appeared at Chester Crown Court and admitted molesting a boy of 14 between 1987 and 1989. The abuse took place at a maisonette which Foxley had with his job. He was given a new three-year community rehabilitation order. The case followed three similar convictions in 2010 and an appeal by the wife of one of the victims through the Chronicle for others to step forward. Foxley, who gave his address as Crewe Road, Crewe, when he appeared before the court last year, had already served a nine-month prison sentence for two charges of indecently assaulting a boy of 14 between 1991 and 1992. He had also received a two-year community rehabilitation order for admitting indecently assaulting a boy of 13 between May and December 2001. Febuary 2010 Manager is jailed after sex attacks on teen boy A MANAGER at Stapeley Water Gardens has been imprisoned after admitting indecently assaulting a teenage boy. Antony Foxley, who lived onsite at the tourist attraction near Nantwich, carried out the two indecent assaults in the garden centre’s private swimming pool. The offences took place in 1991 and 1992, when Foxley’s victim was aged 14. The 47-year-old, who had worked at Stapeley Water Gardens for 30 years, resigned last month. Yesterday, Knutsford Crown Court heard that Foxley, of Kestral Drive, Crewe, struck up a friendship with his victim, who he invited to his accommodation and which had access to a private swimming pool. Jackie Lamb, prosecuting, said: “Two incidents took place in the swimming pool. After the second incident the victim broke off contact with the defendant. “He said the incidents had left him ‘confused, embarrassed and scared’. Because of this he did not tell anyone, but said he continued to relive the ordeal, which he described as a ‘world of torture’.” The victim reported the incidents to the police following a visit to Stapeley Water Gardens in November. While there he heard the defendant’s name mentioned and he said “it brought it all back”. Patrick Thompson, defending, told the court Foxley, pictured, was “desperately sorry” about what he had done. He said: “The defendant is a decent man who is highly thought of. He is somebody who has worked at Stapeley Water Gardens for 30 years and was made a departmental manager. He chose to resign, and his career and good name are in ruins. “He admitted what he did and that is a measure of real remorse. The fact is these are very serious offences involving breach of trust and a 14-year-old child.” Judge Ian Trigger jailed Foxley for nine months, but said he did not believe a sexual offences prevention order was necessary. He said: “This is an utter tragedy for you, your family and the victim. “You come to court as a man who worked for some 30 years in a position of responsibility. You were a valued employee. It’s to your credit you resigned and by your own admission much of your life has come crumbling down. “You befriended a young boy who no doubt was excited by the prospect of using a swimming pool and being a guest in your home, and this was an element of grooming. “Your actions were bound to and did cause psychological and emotional damage to that boy. What you did involved a deep breach of trust and being a man of previous good character, I think prison will have a devastating effect on you.” A spokesman for Stapeley Water Gardens, said: “We can confirm that Antony Foxley has worked for Stapeley Water Gardens for the past 30 years. His resignation was accepted on January 3 and his employment with the company was terminated with immediate effect. “Stapeley Water Gardens would like to reassure visitors that allegations of this nature are dealt with, with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality.”
