MAIDSTONE MAN THREW PIECE OF FRUIT AT HIS WIFE WITH SUCH FORCE IN THEIR HOTEL ROOM IN BELGIUM THAT HE BROKE HER NOSE
An irate husband threw an apple at his wife with such force that he broke her nose and fractured her eye socket.Antoine Guilloneau lobbed an apple at his partner in a hotel in Belgium while they were enjoying a break.
The 36-year-old, who lived in Maidstone at the time, had been enjoying the trip in the Flemish region of Bruges with his wife when he suddenly turned nasty and injured her.
Police in the UK were contacted and Guilloneau, now of Cavendish Road, Weybridge, Surrey, was later charged over the incident and another matter.
He admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) and assault by beating when he appeared in court in September.
He returned to Maidstone Magistrates’ Court on November 13 to learn his fate.
The attack happened on March 22, when they visited a brewery and shared several drinks.
Guilloneau fell asleep but woke up in an angry mood and threw an apple, hitting his wife in the face, breaking her nose and causing fractures to her eye socket.
The court heard that he also assaulted his wife weeks earlier by pulling her hair and pulling her head back.
Guilloneau was jailed for 36 weeks but the term was suspended for two years.
He was ordered to attend rehabilitation and unpaid work, and to pay £250 compensation to his former wife, along with fines and court costs.
