ANTHONY ROBINSON FROM HADFIELD CAUGHT WITH NEARLY 20,000 CHILD PORN IMAGES IN CHILLING CASE

In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Anthony Robinson, a 49-year-old man originally from Hadfield, has been sentenced to two years in prison after authorities uncovered an extensive collection of child exploitation material on his computer. Robinson, who has since moved to Chapel-en-le-Frith, was found to possess a staggering total of nearly 20,000 indecent images of children, ranging from less severe categories to the most extreme forms of abuse.

Robinson’s arrest came after police initiated an investigation into his activities last year. During a search of his residence on Station Road, officers seized multiple hard drives—five in total—that contained the illicit images. The evidence revealed a disturbing pattern of downloading and sharing these images, with records indicating that Robinson had distributed material to at least ten other users. Prosecutor Sherrall Pickford described the content as a mixture across all categories, including some of the most extreme and disturbing pornography involving children.

When questioned by police, Robinson admitted that his actions were “totally perverted” and expressed feelings of disgust towards himself. Despite this, the court heard that his collection of images demonstrated a clear and perverted sexual interest in children, which the judge, Judge John Wait, emphasized during sentencing. The judge condemned Robinson’s behavior, stating that anyone who collects and distributes such images actively promotes the heinous trade of child exploitation. He pointed out that Robinson’s large-scale collection and sharing of these images contribute to the ongoing abuse and exploitation of children worldwide.

Robinson faced multiple charges, including five counts of making indecent photographs of children, one count of possessing an indecent image of a child, and three counts of distributing such images. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to possessing extreme pornographic images during his court appearance at Derby Crown Court. The judge underscored the seriousness of the case, highlighting that only a substantial custodial sentence could serve as appropriate punishment for such grave offenses.

Despite Robinson’s claims that he did not view all the images stored on his hard drives and that his culpability was limited, the court was clear in its stance. The judge emphasized that the very act of collecting and sharing these images perpetuates a perverted and destructive industry, and that Robinson’s actions had serious implications for the safety and dignity of children. His status as a married man with two young children did little to mitigate the severity of his crimes, which have now resulted in a significant prison sentence and a lasting mark on his record.
