ANTHONY PLASKETT FROM HAWICK JAILED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN HAWICK AND BO'NESS
Anthony Plaskett, aged 38 and a resident of Borthaugh Road in Hawick, was sentenced to prison yesterday after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses committed in the Scottish Borders and West Lothian.
The conviction followed a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh, where Plaskett maintained his innocence, claiming, "I never raped anybody and these things are not true." During the proceedings, it was established that Plaskett had carried out two separate sexual assaults in his hometown of Hawick and a third in Bo'ness.
The first incident in Hawick occurred in April 2021 at a private residence, where he subjected a woman to a series of degrading acts.
He made inappropriate sexual remarks, exposed himself, repeatedly attempted to kiss her, and pressed his body against her in a manner that left her feeling threatened and violated.
The second assault in Hawick also took place in April 2021 at another address.
In this incident, Plaskett seized a woman by her body and raped her.
