MAN JAILED FOR KILLING BABY DAUGHTER
A man has received a prison sentence for causing the death of his three-month-old daughter, Ivi Miley, who passed away after suffering severe injuries.Ivi Miley died on 23 July 2020 after being rushed to hospital with bleeding on the brain and 53 fractured ribs.
Anthony Miley, 33, from Macclesfield, was convicted at Chester Crown Court of her manslaughter and sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Her mother, Stephanie Shore, also 33 and from Macclesfield, was acquitted of murder and of failing to prevent her daughter’s death.
Cheshire Police reported that court proceedings indicated Miley went downstairs to feed Ivi after she woke at around 03:20 BST on 22 July 2020.
Miley told police that he fell asleep for an unspecified period before waking and attempting to feed Ivi.
The baby took a few mouthfuls of milk before Miley claimed she became floppy, prompting him to seek help from Ms.
Shore.

Shore testified she heard Ivi cry but did not find it concerning enough to wake her fully and returned to sleep.
She called emergency services after finding Ivi unresponsive, having been awakened by Miley who told her something was wrong.
Paramedics responded and took Ivi to Macclesfield General Hospital, where doctors discovered she had bleeding on both sides of her brain.
The infant was subsequently transferred to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital but died the following day.
Further examinations identified a fracture at the back of her head and a severe brain injury, with X-rays revealing multiple rib fractures, both recent and old.
Police indicated that neither parent could provide an explanation for the extensive injuries.
Detective Inspector Kate Tomlinson described the case as tragic, highlighting the “horrendous injuries” inflicted on such a vulnerable baby, and condemned Miley’s continued denial and lack of remorse as unforgivable.
