ANTHONY MCTEARNEN SHILDON CHILD IMAGE SCANDAL: SHOCKING CASE AT DURHAM CROWN COURT
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Shildon, Durham, Anthony McTearnen, aged 39, faced serious allegations related to the possession and download of indecent images of children.
The incident came to light following a police investigation that uncovered a disturbing collection of material stored on his home computer equipment.
On April 28, police officers visited McTearnen’s residence in Southland Gardens, Shildon, while he was at work.
During this visit, they seized a significant amount of electronic devices, including an encrypted external hard drive.
This device was found to contain a vast array of illicit images, totaling nearly 2,000, which spanned all three categories of severity recognized in such cases.
The sheer volume and nature of the material indicated a troubling pattern of behavior.
When questioned initially, McTearnen denied any involvement with such material and claimed that he was not attracted to children.
He did, however, admit that he found the concept of the
