WEST CORNFORTH MAN TRIED TO ENTICE BOY TO TAKE PART IN SEXUAL ACTIVITY
A man from County Durham who pleaded guilty to attempting to encourage a boy to engage in sexual acts has been warned that he will face imprisonment. This warning was issued to Anthony Drayner after he admitted to violating a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and attempting to persuade a child to partake in sexual activity.
Drayner, aged 51 and residing at The Oval, West Cornforth, appeared via video link from Holme House Stockton during a plea hearing at Durham Crown Court, where he acknowledged the recent charges, both of which occurred on May 19 of this year.
The court informed him: “I will ask the Probation Service to prepare a report so the judge overseeing the case will be fully aware.” “You are aware that this will result in a custodial sentence, considering your previous record.” The judge ordered that Drayner be kept in custody until sentencing, scheduled for Thursday, July 30.
