ANTHONY DOBSON BUSTED IN TEWKESBURY FOR SEX OFFENCES BREACH
In a case that has raised concerns about the enforcement of sexual offences prevention orders, Anthony Dobson, a 40-year-old milkman from Tewkesbury, faced serious legal repercussions after admitting to breaching a court-imposed restriction.The incident took place in February 2012, but the case was brought to light during proceedings at Gloucester Crown Court in January 2013.
Dobson had previously been convicted of a sexual offence in 2006, for which he received a suspended prison sentence.
Despite this, he was subject to a sexual offences prevention order issued in 2009, which explicitly prohibited him from having unsolicited contact with minors under the age of 16.
The purpose of such orders is to prevent reoffending and protect vulnerable individuals from potential harm.
The breach occurred during a routine milk delivery to a One Stop shop located in Tewkesbury.
According to the prosecution, Dobson observed three young girls purchasing sweets inside the store.
It is alleged that he then approached one of the girls, making inappropriate comments by telling her she looked nice.
This unsolicited approach was a clear violation of the court order that restricted his interactions with minors.
Further troubling evidence was presented in court, revealing that Dobson later handed the girl a note containing his name and phone number, explicitly asking her to contact him at a later time.
Such actions not only breached the court order but also raised serious concerns about his intentions and conduct.
During the hearing, Judge William Hart considered the case and decided to grant Dobson bail, pending the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
The judge also issued a stern warning, emphasizing that breaching sexual offences prevention orders is regarded as a grave matter by the courts.
The case was adjourned until February 21, 2012, for further proceedings.
