PETERBOROUGH SEX OFFENDER ANTHONY BULLMAN JAILED FOR FACEBOOK BREACH
A sex offender from Peterborough has been sentenced to prison after violating a court order by creating a Facebook account under a false name.
Anthony Bullman, 26, had been placed on the Sex Offenders Register in 2020 for a period of three years following a court conviction.
One of the conditions of his order required him to notify police of any alias names he was using.
However, officers from the Public Protection Unit (PPU), which oversees registered sex offenders, uncovered last week (13 October) that Bullman had established a Facebook account using the pseudonym Charles Beckwith.
Following this discovery, Bullman was arrested and appeared at Peterborough Magistrates Court the next day (14 October), where he pleaded guilty to failing to comply with his notification obligations.
He was sentenced to six months in prison and received a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
PC Zoe Rogers commented on the case, stating: "This was a clear breach of his notification requirements, which are in place to protect children and prevent him from reoffending."
