Bevan had been classified as a 'most wanted' suspect by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop), a UK law enforcement agency dedicated to tracking down online sex offenders.

His case drew considerable attention after he failed to comply with legal obligations to register as a sex offender, a serious breach that contributed to his inclusion on the list.

The last confirmed sighting of Bevan was in Cardiff on September 28, 2009, which prompted authorities to intensify their search efforts.

His presence in Cardiff was part of a broader investigation into his whereabouts following his disappearance from the public eye.

The breakthrough came when a member of the public in the Yeovil area recognized Bevan from a description published in a local newspaper.

Acting swiftly on this tip, Avon and Somerset police officers located and detained him.
