He emphasized Bamford’s manipulative tactics and his relentless effort to evade capture, which allowed him to commit these offenses over a period of time.
Despite the crimes having occurred many years ago, the victims’ bravery in coming forward has played a crucial role in securing justice.
Detective Carr acknowledged the courage of those women in providing detailed testimonies that enabled police to build a case against Bamford.
He also stated that the initial reports of abuse were received in 2017, which led authorities to identify three victims so far.
Detective Carr highlighted the importance of encouraging any other potential victims to come forward.
He reassured the public that those who did might expect full support from specially trained officers dedicated to helping victims of abuse.
He also stressed that Bamford will be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, giving authorities the power to enforce restrictions on his movements and behavior, especially if he is released from prison.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the enduring impact of childhood abuse and the ongoing need for vigilance and support for victims.
Law enforcement remains committed to uncovering any additional victims who might have suffered at Bamford’s hands, emphasizing the importance of reporting abuse and cooperating with authorities to prevent future harm.
