GRIMSBY WOMAN JAILED FOR SIX YEARS FOR KILLING HUSBAND IN DRUNKEN BIRTHDAY DISPUTE
A woman named Anna Krolikowska, 27, from Duncombe Gardens in Grimsby, was involved in a fatal incident with her husband, Adam Krolikowski, who was 32 years old.She admitted to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility and possession of an offensive weapon after stabbing her husband in the chest during a confrontation on her birthday, following a period of heavy drinking at a barbecue.
The court heard that Anna suspected her husband of infidelity and using prostitutes, which contributed to her emotional turmoil.
During the party, which was attended by their children, she was extremely intoxicated, having consumed at least six bottles of vodka.
The argument escalated when her husband attempted to walk away, and Anna, armed with a knife, pursued him, shouting threats to kill.
Despite his attempts to defend himself, she managed to stab him in the heart, resulting in his death in hospital later that evening.
Anna initially tried to conceal her actions but eventually admitted to stabbing her husband, claiming she did not intend to do so.
She had a history of domestic violence, with incidents starting about a year prior to the incident, including an assault with a kick in 2015 or 2016 and more recent violence in November before the fatal event.
The court sentenced her to six years in prison.
Overall, the case highlights a tragic domestic dispute fueled by alcohol and suspicion, culminating in a lethal act of violence.
