ANGELO FICHELE FROM PETERBOROUGH SENTENCED AFTER VIOLENT OUTBURSTS AND PUBLIC THREATS
A man identified as Angelo Fichele, aged 44 and residing on Welland Road in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, has been sentenced to a prison term of two years and three months. In addition to his incarceration, he has been placed on the Sex Offender Register for a period of seven years.
The incident that led to his conviction involved a series of alarming and aggressive behaviors that caused significant distress among local residents and bystanders.
According to police reports, Fichele was observed in a highly provocative state, reportedly topless and wielding what appeared to be a knife, which he used to threaten and intimidate members of the public in the Peterborough area.
Witnesses described his actions as frightening, with some individuals feeling genuinely threatened by his aggressive stance.
The police further revealed that Fichele engaged in damaging property, specifically targeting four vehicles, which he vandalized during his outburst.
In addition to the property damage, Fichele's conduct included public indecency, as he exposed himself to passersby, and he made a direct threat to kill a woman who was nearby at the time.
These actions contributed to the serious charges he faced in court.
On August 2, at Cambridge Crown Court, Fichele admitted to multiple offenses, including making threats to kill, indecent exposure, five counts of criminal damage, and assault causing grievous bodily harm.
Police investigations revealed that Fichele's erratic behavior was first reported on January 19, when officers responded to numerous calls about his unpredictable conduct.
During his arrest, Fichele engaged in a dirty protest while in custody, further complicating his legal situation.
Despite his initial remand, he was granted bail to appear in court the following day.
However, his troubles persisted, and on March 17, Fichele was re-arrested after an assault on a man on Peveril Road, Dogsthorpe.
The attack involved what was believed to be a sharpened spoon, which caused slash wounds to the victim’s face, adding to the severity of his criminal record.
Detective Constable Jenny Hargreaves commented on the case, emphasizing the impact of Fichele’s actions on the community.
She stated, “These were really frightening incidents for members of the public who witnessed Fichele’s erratic behavior.
I would like to thank those who provided statements in support of our investigation, as a result of this evidence we have been able to put Fichele before the courts and he will now be spending time in prison.”
