Sedgley Barber Sentenced to 14 Years for Child Sexual Abuse

Andy Gearing, a 62-year-old man from Sedgley, was sentenced to 14 years in prison after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offenses. He owned Wanna Haircut in Sedgley and sexually abused a girl over a period of four years. The court heard he committed six counts including sexual intercourse with a girl under 13, exposing himself, penetrating her, and assault. Gearing was found guilty following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court in June. The court revealed that Gearing raped the girl several times on a bed at the back of his barber shop, after plying her with cigarettes and alcohol. The court heard the details of the abuse and the sentencing concluded that Gearing was entitled to 14 years behind bars for his actions.
