2008: WIFE BEATER JAILED FOR 14 MONTHS
A man aged 26 from Oldbury, who has two children, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after attacking his wife amidst marital issues. The court was told by Judge Robin Onions that due to the 210 days Luchinski spent in custody on remand, he would be released immediately upon sentencing.
The judge acknowledged the couple's difficult living circumstances, including poor accommodation and the responsibilities of two children, stating that Luchinski’s life was quite secluded.
He recognized that the wife had made some mistakes, such as leaving with the children, but stressed that this did not justify the defendant’s violent actions.
Addressing Luchinski directly, the judge said that his loss of control stemmed from a fear of rejection, and emphasized that violence toward a partner is never acceptable.
The defendant, who lives on Brassnose Lane in Oldbury, admitted to assault.
The judge also expressed hope that Luchinski accepts that the marriage is over and urged him to conduct himself properly moving forward, warning that he must never again hit a partner.
His lawyer, Mr.
Michael Anning, explained to Wolverhampton Crown Court that Luchinski, who works at a chicken plant, understood the incident was distressing.
He added that the man considers his marriage finished, and the episode marked the conclusion of their relationship.
