Tiverton Sexual Abuser
In a recent court case, Andrew Roocroft, a 35-year-old resident of Tiverton, was sentenced to a two-year prison term, which was suspended, after he was found guilty of breaching a Sexual Offences Prevention Order. The breach involved concealing a laptop that contained nearly 800 deleted images of children, many of which depicted disturbing scenes of minors engaged in sexual acts with adults.

The court proceedings revealed that Roocroft had attempted to hide the device during a police raid, indicating an awareness of the illicit nature of its contents. Investigators uncovered that the computer held a significant number of indecent images, including some that showed children in sexual situations with adults, which is a grave violation of the law.

Roocroft’s criminal history includes previous convictions related to similar offences, highlighting a pattern of concerning behavior. During the investigation, authorities also examined his search history, which demonstrated an ongoing interest in illegal and exploitative material, further underscoring the severity of his actions.

As part of his sentencing, Roocroft was ordered to participate in a specialized sex offender rehabilitation program. Additionally, he is required to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years and will be subject to supervision for the next two years to ensure compliance with legal restrictions and to monitor his activities moving forward.
