Tarbert Child Sexual Abuser
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Tarbert, Andrew Robertson, aged 45, faced serious criminal charges related to the possession and distribution of indecent images involving young boys. The disturbing revelations came to light in January 2017, when Robertson pleaded guilty to multiple charges that included taking or allowing the taking of indecent images of children, possessing such images, and distributing them to other paedophiles.

Authorities conducted a thorough search of Robertson’s residence at 7 Bruce Hill, Tarbert. During the search, Robertson openly admitted to police that his laptop contained indecent images of children, which he claimed were for his own sexual gratification. The police investigation uncovered a horrifying collection of material, including over 100 still photographs and nearly 200 videos, all depicting children in sexually explicit situations. The images and videos were described as vile and deeply disturbing.

Further compounding the severity of the case, Robertson confirmed that an online user named 'Andylfstt' was himself. He also revealed that through platforms like SKYPE and in chat conversations, he had explicitly encouraged young children to join him for web-based interactions involving sexually charged conversations. This evidence pointed to a disturbing pattern of grooming and exploitation, highlighting the extent of Robertson’s predatory behavior.

Following his guilty plea, Robertson was sentenced in February 2017 to a prison term of one year. The case underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies in Scotland to combat child exploitation and bring offenders to justice. The community of Tarbert, like many others, remains vigilant and concerned about safeguarding children from such heinous crimes.
