PAEDOPHILE ANDREW PETERS JAILED FOR SENDING NAKED PHOTOS TO 13-YEAR-OLD DECOY
A convicted sex offender sent explicit photos of himself nude to a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl and urged her to perform a sexual act on herself. The court was told that he had previously received a police caution after a colleague sent him a sexually inappropriate image as a joke.
He started chatting with someone he thought was Millie, a 13-year-old, after adding her on Facebook through his work account.
Their messages later became sexually explicit on WhatsApp, where Peters sent a nude photo of himself, an image of a woman's genitals, and a video of a woman masturbating.
He also encouraged the supposed girl to masturbate and requested that she delete the messages.
The judge stated that Peters tried to manipulate the decoy and showed no understanding of the gravity of his actions.
Peters, who lives on Cowbridge Road in St Nicholas, was found guilty of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, trying to cause a child to view explicit images, and attempting to have a sexual conversation with a minor.
In his defense, the court noted that he was previously cautioned in 2008 for possessing a simulated photo of a child, which negatively affected his reputation, job, and family life, leading to low self-esteem and mental health struggles.
He was sentenced to 33 months in prison, required to register as a sex offender, and ordered to be subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
