A man from Dunfermline, named Andrew Nelson, threatened his former partner through a series of threatening voicemail messages. Nelson, a 52-year-old lorry driver residing on Edgar Street, repeatedly declared his intention to harm her, saying, “I’m going to rip your head off.” He appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court to face charges. Nelson admitted that between November 12 and 17, he sent voicemails that contained threatening and abusive language directed at his ex-partner. In these messages, he called her “You spineless c***” and warned, “When I get a hold of you and your f****** muppet up there I’ll tear your f****** head off, I promise.” He also explicitly threatened: “I’ll rip your f****** head off.” Representing himself in court, Nelson stated, “I feel embarrassed to be standing here. My choice of words was poor. Very, very bad. Alcohol had been taken. I’ve no real recollection. It was a difficult break-up.” Sheriff Wyllie Robertson fined him £420.
