PAEDOPHILE ANDREW MASSEY JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ABUSING CHILDREN AFTER DECEPTIVE RELATIONSHIP

A paedophile targeted a single mum to form a relationship with, after he was released from prison. Andrew Massey, 45, spent time with his new partner's little girls and kept his dark past a secret, after he was released early from a six-and-a-half year prison term. It was only when Massey's offender manager came to check on him, and the children were outside his Ingleby Barwick home - that he was caught. The paedophile was provided with accommodation on his release from jail. He was living under strict conditions banning him from contact with children, unless he disclosed his paedophile past to their parents first and let his offender manager know about the relationship. But Massey's new girlfriend was described as having developed strong feelings for him at Teesside Crown Court on Wednesday. She had no idea that he had convictions for making indecent images of children; facilitating child sex offences; and failing to comply with sex offender notification requirements. Massey was jailed at Sheffield Crown Court in 2021, after he was caught by an undercover police officer. He boasted that he was sexually abusing a seven-year-old girl in an online chat. Massey pleaded guilty to breaching his sexual harm prevention order at an earlier hearing. He was recalled to prison to serve the remainder of his 2021 sentence, and won't be released until January 2028. In mitigation, Andrew Turton told the court that his client's contact with the children "was relatively brief" within the six-month relationship. Judge Joanne Kidd told Massey, of Longleat Walk in Ingleby Barwick, that he is "a predatory and dangerous offender with an entrenched sexual interest in little girls." He was jailed for 32-months.
