In March 2016, 51-year-old Andrew Marshall from Worksop was given a two-year prison sentence for grooming a teenage girl through texts and social media. Prosecutors detailed that he sent multiple explicit messages, met with the girl in person, hugged her, and attempted to kiss her, which caused her considerable distress. Marshall admitted to his inappropriate conduct but reportedly showed little remorse, as noted in court. Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for a period of seven years and was instructed to maintain a distance from the victim.
