Hastings Byker Sexual Abuser
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the communities of Byker in Newcastle and Hastings in East Sussex, a series of heinous crimes involving online grooming and sexual assault have come to light. The case centers around Andrew Mandefield, a 30-year-old man from Hastings, and Angela Sisson, a 32-year-old woman from Byker, Newcastle, who became embroiled in a web of illicit activities that culminated in a serious criminal offense.

According to court reports, Mandefield, who was married and a father of three, initiated a clandestine online relationship with a 15-year-old girl while she was babysitting for a woman friend in Newcastle. The girl was under the supervision of Angela Sisson, who was separated from her husband at the time. The internet chat between Mandefield and the girl was reportedly ongoing for hours, during which Mandefield developed an inappropriate and dangerous connection with the minor.

What began as an online conversation soon escalated beyond virtual exchanges. Mandefield, who was residing in Hastings, made the decision to travel to Tyneside to meet the girl in person. His journey was driven by the illicit relationship he had cultivated through the internet. Upon arriving in Newcastle, Mandefield visited Sisson’s home in Whickham Gardens, Byker, where the girl was staying. The situation took a dark turn when Mandefield engaged in unlawful sexual activity with the girl inside Sisson’s residence.

The girl’s mother, a woman from Walker, Newcastle, expressed her outrage and frustration over the entire ordeal. She revealed her shock at the betrayal of trust, especially since her daughter was under the care of someone she believed to be a trusted acquaintance. The mother stated, “I thought my daughter was safe babysitting at the house of a woman we’ve known for more than four years. I was furious when it came to light. I confronted Angela and she denied it. This man is disgusting and deserves to be locked away. Now we have to wait another month for a further hearing and my daughter will have to go through all this again.”

Legal proceedings revealed that Mandefield had engaged in a series of disturbing acts. Newcastle Crown Court heard that he first allowed the girl to become intoxicated with alcohol, then proceeded to kiss her in the living room of Sisson’s home. The situation then escalated as Mandefield took the girl into a bedroom where they engaged in full, unprotected sexual intercourse. The following night, Mandefield returned to Hastings with a male friend, leaving the girl behind.

Mandefield pleaded guilty to two charges of unlawful sexual intercourse and one of indecent assault, all related to his actions during a brief visit to Sisson’s home in November of the previous year. It was also established that he was aware of the girl’s underage status before engaging in any sexual activity. As a result, he was sentenced to nine months in prison, with an order to register as a sex offender for the next ten years. Mr. Justice Henriques, presiding over the case, condemned Mandefield’s actions, stating, “You were under no illusion when you were in the North East as to the girl’s age but you paid little attention to that.”

Meanwhile, Angela Sisson faced her own legal consequences. She had earlier pleaded guilty to allowing a girl under 16 to have sexual intercourse on her premises. Sisson was remanded in custody pending a further hearing to determine whether she had encouraged the teenager to go into the bedroom with Mandefield or if she had later sought sordid details about their sexual encounters. The case continues to unfold, with authorities warning that Sisson also faces potential imprisonment for her role in the incident.
