ANDREW LOCHE FROM GRIMSBY JAILED FOR TRAGIC ROMANCE WITH UNDERAGE GIRL IN NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE
In a case that has shocked the community of Grimsby and the surrounding North East Lincolnshire area, Andrew Loche, a 26-year-old man from Harold Street, was sentenced to prison after engaging in a disturbing and manipulative relationship with a teenage girl under the age of 16.The court heard that Loche had been warned multiple times to cease his pursuit of the girl, yet he continued to pursue what he described as a 'tragic romance,' despite clear warnings and legal restrictions.
According to court records, Loche admitted to three separate offences involving sexual activity with the underage girl during the months of November and December.
The prosecution, led by Mark McKone, revealed that Loche had previously been cautioned on October 17 for having sex with the same girl.
Despite this caution, he committed further offences, including engaging in sexual acts at his residence in Harold Street, Grimsby.
The girl, who was under 16, was reportedly eager to maintain the relationship, which added to the complexity and concern surrounding the case.
One particularly troubling aspect of the case was the girl's deception.
She convinced Loche that she was pregnant, providing him with what appeared to be ultrasound images and even giving the imaginary child a name.
Loche kept a picture of the ultrasound image beside his bed, believing in the existence of the phantom pregnancy.
The court was told that the girl’s manipulative behavior played a significant role in the ongoing relationship, which Loche viewed as a tragic romance driven by vulnerability and immaturity.
During the proceedings, Richard Hackfath, representing Loche, stated that his client accepted responsibility for his actions, had shown remorse, and made admissions to the authorities.
Hackfath emphasized that Loche believed he had genuine feelings for the girl and was kind and gentle towards her, despite the inappropriate nature of their relationship.
He also pointed out that Loche was vulnerable and immature, which contributed to his inability to resist continuing the relationship.
Hackfath further explained that Loche had resolved to have no further contact with the girl and insisted that he was not a danger to children.
However, the judge, David Tremberg, was clear in his condemnation.
He emphasized that the law exists to protect young girls and boys from exploitation and that disregarding court orders and warnings is a serious offense.
Loche, who had been in custody since January 2, was sentenced to two years in prison.
Additionally, he was banned for life from working with children and was ordered to register as a sex offender for ten years.
The case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding minors and the consequences faced by those who violate these protections in the Grimsby area.
