DOMESTIC ABUSER JAILED OVER CAMPAIGN OF VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMAN
Andrew Kieron Simmons, aged 38 and hailing from Stoke-on-Trent, reportedly arrived at the victim’s residence and seized her by her hair, according to Staffordshire Police.
He was accused of engaging in ongoing coercive and controlling conduct toward the victim for nearly three years.
The following day after the initial assault, Simmons appeared again at her home, where he kicked the front door, resulting in damage.
Following police custody interrogation, authorities collected sufficient evidence to charge Simmons with multiple offences.
During court proceedings, Simmons denied all accusations; however, the jury found him guilty based on the evidence presented by the police.
The defendant, who resides in Weston Coyney, was convicted of assault by beating, coercive and controlling behaviour, and witness intimidation.
Additionally, he admitted to causing criminal damage valued at less than £5,000.
On Monday, November 24th, Simmons was sentenced to a total of four years and nine months in prison during a hearing at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
