ANDREW KELSELL AND SHOCKING CHILD SEX OFFENCE IN LINCOLNSHIRE
A man identified as Andrew Kelsall, aged 31, has been sentenced to a significant period of imprisonment following his involvement in the creation and distribution of an extensive collection of abusive images involving children.Kelsall, a resident of Boston Road in Sleaford, was convicted at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, February 16, and received a prison term of four years and eight months.
The seriousness of Kelsall's criminal activities was underlined by the fact that he had produced and circulated over 700 images and videos depicting abuse of children, many of which are classified as 'extreme pornographic images.' These vile materials showcase acts that are both illegal and disturbingly graphic, emphasizing the severity of his actions.
Additionally, Kelsall had plotted to meet with an individual he believed was a child under the age of 10 and her mother, intending to engage in sexual acts—an attempt that underscores the predatory nature of his offenses.
Further investigations revealed that Kelsall had been communicating with a person in Scotland, whom he was unaware was an undercover officer or law enforcement posing as a potential child victim or accomplice.
During the search, authorities discovered that he possessed a disturbing collection of materials, including 70 Category A images and videos—those involving the most severe forms of child abuse—alongside 15 Category B and 34 Category C images, which denote differing levels of severity in illegal content.
In total, the police uncovered Kelsall’s possession of 679 images and videos considered to be 'extreme' in nature, along with one prohibited pornographic image.
Such images often feature depraved acts and are classified under strict legal categories to indicate their different degrees of severity.
His possession and distribution of these materials, alongside plans to meet and commit sexual offences involving children, led to multiple charges and a substantial prison sentence.
Detective Constable Nicola Paradowski of Lincolnshire Police’s Paedophile Online Team commented on the case, stating, 'After receiving a referral from Police Scotland concerning Andrew Kelsall and the shocking evidence of his activities, we immediately launched a thorough investigation to ensure he was removed from the streets.
This case exemplifies effective cross-border cooperation in law enforcement and sends a clear message that we will pursue those suspected of crimes against children without hesitation.' A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police further confirmed that Kelsall would be added to the Sex Offenders Register and be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), measures that serve to monitor and limit his interactions within the community to prevent further offences and protect the public from future harm.
